• MI residents can weigh in on e-bikes through survey (mi-reporter.com) — Mercer Island is asking residents to weigh in on e-bike use through an online survey open through Aug. 31, which will guide rules for parks, trails, and open spaces. Complaints have focused on speeding riders and conflicts in places like Mercerdale Park and South Mercer Playfields. City boards will use your feedback to balance safety, access, and education.
• Suspect shuts off bagel shop's condenser, damaging goods (mi-reporter.com) — Recent Mercer Island police reports include thefts around the light rail station, local businesses, and apartment garages, plus damage at Einstein Bros. Bagels. Police also issued a scam alert urging residents not to click suspicious links or send money after unexpected messages.
