• Rivera completes Eagle Scout project (mi-reporter.com) — A Mercer Island High School freshman, Life Scout Gavin Rivera, recently led an Eagle Scout project repainting the United States and Mercer Island playground murals at Lakeridge Elementary. Working with Lakeridge's principal and the Mercer Island School District's maintenance director, Rivera and fellow scouts from Troops 647 and 678 refreshed a well-used play space for local students. 
• Crest Champions Mercer Island Youth (citylifestyle.com) — Crest Learning Center has supported Mercer Island high school students for over 50 years, offering a smaller, more personalized environment alongside MIHS classes and activities. The program emphasizes community, project-based learning, and strong relationships, helping students who need flexibility or extra support build confidence and move on to college, careers, and engaged adult lives.
