• Aging school infrastructure impacts Snohomish County students, districts say (heraldnet.com) — Monroe families could soon be asked to vote on a new capital levy after a $152 million school construction bond failed, leaving aging Sky Valley Education Center and other facilities in limbo. District leaders are weighing a 2- to 6-year levy that might appear on the August or November ballot to fund critical building replacements and repairs. 
• Prep baseball: Snohomish bests Edmonds-Woodway for State spot (heraldnet.com) — Monroe High’s baseball team was shut out 14-0 by top-seeded Mount Vernon, dropping the Bearcats into a must-win consolation game for a state berth. Monroe, now 13-8, will face Stanwood on Saturday in a loser-out, winner-to-state matchup, while Snohomish and other District 1 teams also battled for spots in the 3A tournament.
