Lake Ballinger Center seeks board members (mymltnews.com) — The Lake Ballinger Center in Ballinger Park, formerly the Mountlake Terrace Seniors Group, is recruiting new board members to help guide programs for older adults and the wider Mountlake Terrace community. Residents have until July 31 to apply and can help shape long-term services, partnerships and events at this key neighborhood gathering space. 
2. Mountlake Terrace city manager withdraws from Bainbridge Island job (mymltnews.com) — Mountlake Terrace City Manager Jeff Niten has decided to withdraw from consideration for the Bainbridge Island city manager job and remain leading Mountlake Terrace. He told staff he’s committed to the council’s vision and proud of the city team’s direction. Niten, who has served since April 2023, continues as the city’s chief executive under its council‑manager system.
3. South County Fire preparing for busy July 4th weekend (myedmondsnews.com) — Mountlake Terrace residents are reminded that fireworks sales and discharge are illegal in the city and across southwest Snohomish County, and South County Fire is boosting staffing for the busy July 4 period. Fire officials urge neighbors to report illegal fireworks to the non-emergency line, consider the impact on pets and veterans, and pick up free “Fireworks Illegal” yard signs at Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 19 while supplies last.
4. Local track and field athletes bring home medals from Nike Outdoor Nationals (mylynnwoodnews.com) — Mountlake Terrace High School graduate Allison Mervin and other local standouts just brought home medals from the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field, putting our area’s track talent on the national stage. Their performances in jumps, relays and hurdles cap standout high school seasons and launch several athletes into upcoming college careers.
