• Oak Harbor deer with PVC pipe attracts concern (whidbeynewstimes.com) — Wildlife officials are searching Whidbey Island after an Oak Harbor resident reported a young deer with PVC pipe stuck on its leg, a problem that’s persisted for more than a month. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is now coordinating with locals and urges residents to report sightings to its WILDCOMM dispatch so crews can safely help the animal.

• A rainbow of Pride events set for Whidbey - Whidbey News-Times (whidbeynewstimes.com) — Oak Harbor residents can join Pride Month festivities starting June 6 with a downtown Pride Walk at Flintstone Park, followed by an evening drag show at Megan’s. Additional celebrations continue across Whidbey Island in Coupeville, Langley, and Clinton, including parades, brunch, and a queer film challenge, all highlighting LGBTQIA+ community, inclusion, and connection.
