• Adult male whale found malnourished; Washington's whale deaths this year reach 12 (nbc16.com) — A dead adult male gray whale recently washed ashore near Ocean Shores, adding to a troubling rise in whale deaths along Washington’s coast this year. Researchers say the malnourished animal is one of 12 whale mortalities recorded statewide so far, with similar strandings also reported in Oregon.
