• Tacoma man sentenced for death of his wife, a reality TV star, in police pursuit (thenewstribune.com) — A high‑speed police pursuit that passed through the Parkland area has led to an 18‑year prison sentence for a Tacoma man whose wife was killed in the drunken crash. Prosecutors say he was driving more than 100 mph and tried to elude deputies before losing control near the Roy Y, leaving his wife dead and another passenger injured.
   

• Gee: Wait, what?! You're selling a stolen excavator on Facebook Marketplace? (mynorthwest.com) — A construction company with a plant in Parkland got an unexpected assist when its owner spotted his stolen excavator listed on Facebook Marketplace, recognizing storage units across from the Parkland facility in the photos. Deputies arranged a meetup, arrested a 23‑year‑old suspect at the scene, and recovered the machine before it could be sold to unsuspecting buyers.
