1 Man Injured In Shooting Outside Puyallup Motel

According to investigators, the victim is in "very grave condition" after a shooting in Puyallup Friday afternoon.

PUYALLUP, WA — A shooting outside the Northwest Motor Inn left a 21-year-old man with life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon, authorities said. The Puyallup Police Department responded to the motel on the 1400 block of South Meridian shortly before 6 p.m.

According to a news release, officers found the man with two gunshot wounds in the chest and torso and rushed him to Good Samaritan Hospital — located just one block from the scene — in "very grave condition." Detectives said the victim entered the back seat of a vehicle just before he was shot, then exited "in distress," and went to the motel's lobby to call for help.

Investigators say the shooting suspect fled the area, and neighbors were in no immediate danger. A description of the person police are looking for has not been released. Detectives are still working to learn the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
