• Washington school officials cannot solve the mystery of why their building became a bat haven (the-independent.com) — Edgerton Elementary in Puyallup has found eight bats inside the school over 17 days, prompting investigations, health consultations, and upcoming exclusion work to seal entry points. District officials say there's no sign of roosting, but they're urging students and staff not to touch bats and advising parents on what to do if a child has contact.
