1 Killed, 2 Injured In Crash Involving Pierce County Deputy
Investigators said a car pulled in front of a deputy while he was responding to a shots fired call with sirens. The deputy was not injured.

PARKLAND, WA — One woman was killed and her two passengers injured after a crash involving a Pierce County deputy in the Parkland area Friday afternoon.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the deputy was responding to a shots fired call, driving westbound on 112th Street with lights and sirens, shortly before 1 p.m. Investigators said a green Honda, also driving westbound, turned left as the deputy attempted to pass and was struck.
The sheriff's department said three people were in the Honda, and the woman driving the car died at the scene. Two passengers were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. According to investigators, the deputy was not injured and was being evaluated by the Peer Support Team.

An investigation into the crash will be handled by Washington State Patrol.
