81-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In South Hill Crash

SOUTH HILL, WA — An 81-year-old woman was struck and killed by a driver in South Hill late Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said a vehicle driving westbound on 152nd Street East hit the woman as she walked across the street, near the 81st Avenue intersection. She died at the scene. According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with detectives. An initial investigation found no indication that drugs, alcohol or distracted driving were contributing factors.
