Albertsons, Safeway Recall Baked Goods Over Salmonella Fears

The recall affects stores in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and also includes Albertson's stores.

PUYALLUP, WA - Dozens of baked goods are being voluntarily recalled by Albertsons and Safeway stores in the Pacific Northwest in connection with possible salmonella contamination in a powdered milk product.

The Safeway-Albertsons recall involves a frosting product used in the baked goods; the frosting contains a powdered milk product made by Valley Milk Products LLC. Valley Milk Products has recalled that powdered milk product voluntarily over possible salmonella contamination.

No illnesses have been reported, Safeway said in a statement. The products in question were sold before Dec. 15 and have a "best by" date of Dec. 20. The baked goods were sold in all Albertsons and Safeway stores in Oregon and Washington, and a handful of stores in northern Idaho.
