We all, at one time or another, have to work/cooperate with city employees. here are some do's and dont's that I have learned:
1)Take your A Type macho personality (if you have one like I am told I do) and stuff it in your pocket. No one wants to communicate with another that does not listen and wait their turn to be heard.
2) You don't have a complaint, you have an issue, problem, or concern. Be prepared to listen and also learn the "big picture". Your "issue" may be one of lack of knowledge.
3) Like a veteran, never forget to tell the representative you appreciate his/her service to the community, they have feelings also.
4) Offer your idea of a solution (which most of us have done before the meet) and let your representative explain if this is a possible remedy or not.
5) Do your part. Telling someone else to take care of your personal issue is rude and inconsiderate, let alone inappropriate.
6) Be a good neighbor and citizen.
7) don't forget 1-6!!!
