Fife Mother Accused Of Trying To Murder Her Own Children

A 31-year-old Fife woman has been arrested after police say she tried to kill both her young children.

FIFE, WA — A Fife mother has been arrested and charged for attempting to kill both of her young children.

The Fife Police Department says that at around 4:40 p.m. Sunday the woman called 911 and told dispatchers she had killed her four-year-old daughter and was planning to kill her baby next.

When officers arrived at the woman's home, they found the four-year-old alive, but unconscious. Police say the baby boy was up and alert.

After checking the children, officers then arrested their 31-year-old mother. The police department says after her arrest she admitted to intentionally hurting the children. She has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on two counts of attempted murder.

Meanwhile, the four-year-old girl has been taken to nearby Mary Bridge hospital where she is in critical condition. The two-year-old boy is also being held for observation, according to police.
