Puyallup Councilwoman Will Run For State House

Cyndy Jacobsen will run as a Republican for an open House seat in the 25th Legislative District.

PUYALLUP, WA — A first-term Puyallup Councilwoman will run in 2020 for an open seat representing Pierce County in the state House.

Councilwoman Cyndy Jacobsen made her 2020 announcement on Wednesday, according to House Minority Leader JT Wilcox. She will run as a Republican for the House seat being vacated by state Rep. Chris Gildon.

Jacobsen was first elected to the Puyallup City Council in 2017, and her term isn't up until the end of 2021.

Gildon will run for Hans Zeiger's 25th District state Senate seat, according to the state GOP. Zeiger announced recently that he will seek the Pierce County Council seat that Pam Roach is retiring from in 2020.
