Heimlich will replace outgoing GOP chair Susan Hutchison, who was elected in 2012. In 2018, Heimlich will be in charge as Republicans try to hang on to the congressional seat being vacated by Dave Reichert. Republican Dino Rossi, a former gubernatorial candidate, will try to hold the seat for the GOP.
