Blown Tire Leads To Semitrailer Fire Along SR 512
The driver was taken to the emergency room for his injuries, according to Central Pierce fire.
PARKLAND, WA — A semitrailer burst into flames early Monday morning along SR 512 west of Puyallup, causing long backups during rush hour.
The crash happened at around 2 a.m., according to WSDOT, in the eastbound lanes near Portland Avenue. The semi driver told state police that the vehicle blew a tire, hit a jersey barrier, and then overturned. The truck's axel dragged along the ground, causing a spark, which ignited the trailer.
The driver was able to escape, but he was taken to the emergency room for treatment of his injuries, according to Central Pierce fire.
