• Fire danger raised to moderate ahead of schedule (ptleader.com) — Fire officials have already raised Jefferson County’s fire danger to moderate, weeks earlier than usual, after several brush fires in Quilcene and nearby areas escaped control. Yard debris and landclearing burns are now banned countywide, and residents are urged to be extra cautious with any remaining allowed fires and to prepare their properties to reduce wildfire risk.
