She is right! I am a plus size mama, and rather than focusing on the pounds, I'm focusing on looking good and if I'm curvy, I'm very proud to show it. Although, it wasn't always that way! I used to literally live in sweats.
I have a condition called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and it took several years to diagnose. It really didn't matter how often I worked out, and my doctor at the time put me on a 1,000 calorie per day diet, nothing would reduce the weight gain. I went from a size 8 to a size 24 in less than a year. Needless to stay, I became very depressed about my weight and going shopping for stylish wear that didn't resemble my mother's fashions from the eighties was just plain scary! I've maintained my weight at a size 18/20 and that's with proper diet and exercise, so it may take years for me to drop the weight, but what matters is how I feel about myself.

Lindsey has been a huge motivator in how I see myself now versus back then. I really wish I would have found her years ago, but what matters is that she's there now empowering plus size women everywhere to love themselves no matter the size, and to walk out of her store feeling beautiful.
Trade Chic is a very clean and organized store. When I first walked in I could see that items were even in color codes, which I as a mom of 2-year-old needs to get in and out before my daughter has reached critical on patience! I can easily find what I’m looking for, and if I can’t find what I’m looking for I ask. Lindsey is one of the best when it comes to customer service, and she knows her shop and everything in it. Everything that I have purchased at Trade Chic has worked within my budget and I get complimented daily when I'm wearing the clothing that I purchased there (and yes, I do still wear comfortable clothing... Black leggings and a long T are the way to go, or jeans). Another thing that I do love, is that I can go to her website, she has a blog that will let you know in advance what trends are about to hit the streets, she has an online shop, and a member's exclusive event to see the fashions before they hit the rack with discounts!
This boutique has been one of the very few places that I can shop in with comfort and an honest opinion. Lindsey really takes the time to get to know her customers, she helps you enhance your own personal style and will always have pieces of clothing in mind when you walk in the door. For example, she knows that I love almost all Bohemian earth toned colors and fringe, so when I come in, she leads the way. She runs her shop in a different way than most stores. It's more about what makes you look good than dollar amount. She doesn’t push the expensive newer items at you unless she knows for certain that the item is screaming, “It’s you.”
By the way ladies, she does a yearly model search—interested? Ask her about it!
