1. 2 Washington children who had been missing since 2023 found in Virginia (koin.com) — Two children who disappeared from Redmond in December 2023 have been safely found in Virginia and reunited with their father after a multi-state investigation. Redmond police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and U.S. Marshals coordinated across several agencies to track the family, after authorities say the mother took the children following a custody loss.
   

2. Rumour — Halo Studios Only Has 20 Staff Remaining Following Latest Xbox Cuts (psu.com) — A major round of Xbox layoffs has reportedly left Halo Studios, the Redmond-based developer formerly known as 343 Industries, with as few as 20 employees. While Microsoft says the studio will keep supporting the Halo community, reports suggest hundreds of jobs were cut and the next main Halo game will now be developed by Activision.
   

3. When Does a Political Protest Lose Workplace Protection? New NLRB Advice Memo Says: When Improving Working Conditions Isn't a Goal (natlawreview.com) — Microsoft's handling of a pro-Palestinian protest at its Redmond headquarters was deemed lawful in a new NLRB Advice Memorandum, which found the action wasn't aimed at improving employees' working conditions. For Redmond-area tech workers, the memo clarifies when political demonstrations lose federal labor protections, while warning that broader Board rules on mixed-motive protests could still change.
   

4. Former Amazon and Opendoor leaders raise $3M to give every key business metric its own AI agent (commstrader.com) — A new AI startup headquartered in Redmond has raised $3 million to build software that assigns always-on AI agents to monitor and fix key business metrics. Led by former Amazon and Opendoor leaders, the seven-person team plans to grow, win more enterprise customers, and expand its "agentic KPI ops" platform that already serves major retailers.
