Shooting Inside Renton Target Hospitalizes Teen

Officers are searching for a suspect after a shooting inside a Target store at The Landing on Monday night, according to police.

RENTON, WA — A 15-year-old boy is hospitalized, and a suspect is on the run, after a shooting inside a Renton Target store on Monday night. According to a hospital spokesperson, the teen remains at Harborview Medical Center in satisfactory condition.

The Renton Police Department arrived on scene at The Landing shopping center around 8 p.m.

Reports of shots fired began to surface on social media shortly after the incident. An image posted on Twitter a few minutes later showed a large police response outside the store.

Police said preliminary information indicated an argument took place and the shooting did not appear to be random. Officers are still searching for the shooter, believed to have fled the area, and released a description of a potential suspect Monday night.

Earlier in the evening, a shooting outside a Kent strip mall injured six people, including a teenage boy.
