Renton PD Looking For 'Person Of Interest' In Jason Hobbs Murder

RENTON, WA - Renton police have arrested the primary suspect in the Nov. 30 killing of Jason Hobbs Jr., but now they're looking for another man in connection to the crime who is being called a "person of interest."

Renton police detectives want to talk to Jose G. Magana Arevalo, 24, the brother of Cristian Magana Arevalo. Cristian Magana Arevalo, 21, was arrested in Bellevue in early December, and has been charged with first-degree murder.

Hobbs was shot and killed on Nov. 30 at an apartment complex along Aberdeen Avenue Northeast. Hobbs was there to meet two men - Jose and Cristian Magana Arevalo - for a fistfight to settle a prior dispute. Police say it was Cristian Magana Arevalo who opened fire on Hobbs multiple times that night.

According to court documents, Hobbs spoke to Jose Magana Arevalo to arrange the meeting, and he may have been at the scene of the shooting.
