Vehicular Homicide Charge After Renton Bicyclist Dies
Taylor Goehring died this week after she was hit by an impaired driver while riding her bike along Rainier Avenue on Dec. 7.

RENTON, WA - A 44-year-old Seattle man is now facing a vehicular homicide charge after the bicyclist he hit in Renton on Dec. 7 died this week. Taylor Marie Goehring, 23, was riding her bike along Rainier Avenue when Vern A. Henderson allegedly hit her.
Henderson has a long criminal history and multiple DUI convictions. Patch detailed his criminal record - and why he was able to access a car - in a previous story.
"Drug impairment and speed are believed to have been factors in this collision," Renton police wrote in a press statement sent out on Thursday.

Henderson was facing a vehicular assault charge before Geohring's death. Her family decided to take her off life support on Tuesday due to her severe injuries.
