Richland buys vacant Jadwin Avenue building for new police department (nbcrightnow.com) ā Richland has purchased the long-vacant building at 1200 Jadwin Avenue to become a much larger police headquarters, replacing the cramped station opened in 2000. The city paid just over $7 million in cash reserves and expects renovations to take two to three years, with about $44 million more in work still to be funded and room left for other future city services.

The West Van Giesen & Keene intersection shuts down for a roundabout (applevalleynewsnow.com) ā Drivers in West Richland will face detours as the busy West Van Giesen Street and Keene Road intersection closes for construction of a new roundabout. The long-planned project, funded in part by the state, will add pedestrian crossings with flashing beacons, lower the speed limit, and is expected to finish within about two months.

3. $48M VA clinic for Tri-Cities clears key WA hurdle. What next? (tri-cityherald.com) ā Richland-area veterans could soon see far more care options as a new $48 million VA clinic in Kennewick moves closer to construction, replacing the much smaller Richland clinic as the main local hub. The 124,000-square-foot facility will greatly expand outpatient services for thousands of veterans across Benton and Franklin counties once final approvals and construction are completed.
