• 70-foot whale carcass found lodged on cargo ship's bow at Port of Tacoma (katu.com) — A massive 70-foot whale carcass was discovered stuck to the bow of a cargo ship arriving at the Port of Tacoma, and investigators are working to determine its species and cause of death. One local worker who often whale-watches from Ruston Point and Dune Peninsula called the sight heartbreaking as officials towed the carcass to McNeil Island for examination.
