1 Dead In Wrong-Way Crash Along SR 18

The 50-year-old victim was dead at the scene of the crash near Tiger Mountain.

HOBART, WA - A 50-year-old man from Kent died late Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash along SR 18.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. in the westbound lanes of SR 18, according to state patrol. Terry L. Slayton, 68, of Maple Valley, was allegedly driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when he collided head-on with the Kent man.

The crash closed SR 18 for over 3 hours for cleanup and an investigation. Police have not said what caused the crash, but are investigating Slayton for vehicular homicide.
