2021 Elections: Who's On November Ballots In Sammamish, Issaquah

SAMMAMISH, WA — With the August primary in the rearview mirror, and election results now certified, voters have a clear picture of what to expect heading into the November general election.

Voter turnout in the primary was lower than expected, even for an odd-year, but those who cast a ballot helped determine which two candidates made the final cut in their local and countywide races. Incumbent King County Executive Dow Constantine crossed the 50 percent mark during the primary and will face state Sen. Joe Nguyen, who picked up more than 32 percent of the primary vote.

Among the three King County Council districts up for election this year, incumbents Pete von Reichbauer and Reagan Dunn both secured more than half of the primary votes, while Kathy Lambert garnered just over 40 percent of the vote. Lambert will face Sarah Perry in the general election, who received 36 percent of the primary vote.

For Sammamish and Issaquah, primary ballots in each city featured a one city council race that drew more than two candidates. Voters within King County Fire District 10 also approved the renewal of a fire benefit charge, which will help fund Eastside firefighting resources.

In November, Issaquah voters will see three more council races with a single candidate, along with Mayor Mary Lou Pauly who is running unopposed. In Sammamish, three more council contests with two candidates each are on the November ballot.
