Eastside Fire & Rescue - Santa Visits The Highlands

Last night, Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) off-duty firefighters drove Santa through the Issaquah Highlands making a stop at Blakely Hall where several toys were then loaded up on the Reindeer Engine.

Firefighters have been coordinating efforts with local organizations and community leaders over the last two months to collect food and toys. "We find that the public supports these efforts and people of all ages are excited to donate when they know they are helping a family in need," says Josie Williams, Public Information Officer for EF&R.  "It also helps draw the crowds when they know the Reindeer Engine will be driving through their community."

With the economic turn, many families are struggling to make ends meet.  Firefighters and volunteers with EF&R are helping to make a difference in their community.  You can help support these efforts by dropping off a food item, or a new unwrapped toy at any of our staff fire stations.
