MusiKids: A new music program for infant through pre-k in Issaquah to open in April

“When you give your infant, toddler, or pre-k child the gift of music, you give them so much more than just a fun activity to pass the time” says Leah Mainard, founder of MusiKids in Issaquah.  “Music has a way of giving parents a healthy and fun way to interact with their children, build life long memories, deepen their relational bonds with their children and instill a musical foundation for deeper musical exploration.”

“As a Mom of two, I have seen music bring us together in ways that nothing else can,” says Mainard, “MusiKids is designed to enhance this experience between parents and their children.” 

Kaleidoscope School of Music in Issaquah is pleased to announce MusiKids, a brand new music program for Infants, Toddlers, and Pre-K children.  Children will be exposed to music using these distinct elements to enhance music learning:

• Parent involvement and interaction
• Integration of a variety of musical learning methods.
• Fun for parents and children alike.
• Broad spectrum of contemporary and traditional children’s music from multiple cultures.

Classes will be available for the following age ranges:
Musikids Infant Class  (0-18 months):  Babies will respond with delight to the various musical activities and social interaction they experience in each class. Come join us for dance, movement, age-appropriate instruments and musical exploration.   It’s never too early to begin fostering a love of music!
Musikids Toddler Class  (18-24 months): Toddlers are always on the go! Each week we will channel their enthusiastic energy through movement in music, musical games, use of age-appropriate instruments, and imaginative play.
Musikids Young Pre –K Class  (2-3 years): Not only will each child experience the world of music through movement, dance, instruments, singing and musical games, but they will also work to develop social skills, gross and fine motor skills, educated listening ears, turn-taking, and school readiness skills. Young pre-schoolers will be introduced to music vocabulary, taught how to find the beat, rhythm, and melody, as well as begin learning how to find the melody.  
Musikids Pre-K Class  (4-5 years): We will further explore the world of music through movement, instruments, singing and dance. This class will further develop the recognition of music vocabulary, beat, rhythm, and melody, as well as introduce music notation/staff, in preparation of formal music lessons.

Classes begin on Wednesday, April 24^th and Thursday, April 25^th, but Mainard will also be offering a free “sneak peek” lesson on Saturday, April 20^th beginning at 4:30pm.  “We will have a 15 minute sneak peek lesson for each age group plus some cupcakes and other goodies for the kids and parents too” says Mainard.  To register for the classes or to find out more about the sneak peek lesson, please visit www.issaquahlessons.com or email leahmainard@gmail.com.
