The Evergreen, Emerald City and Lake Sammamish Chapters joined forces working withOperation Homefront to coordinate and provide support for the event. The chapters worked side by side to decorate tables, organize clothing, baby equipment and greet the moms as they arrived. Evergreen Chapter provided 500 cupcakes for the event. Emerald City Chapter sponsored two military
moms, and coordinated a baby fashion show that was truly a salute to cute! The Lake Sammamish Chapter provided 40 gift-filled diaper bags as table centerpieces along with 350 diaper-wrapped baby bottles as table favors. Over 100 mothers and daughters from the three Chapters volunteered to assist moms and infants with everything from filling plates in the buffet line, to holding babies while mothers ate, to running gifts to recipients, working the shopping area and helping pack up and carry everything out to their cars.
National Charity League, Inc. is rolling out its first National Philanthropy Initiative – Service from the Heart - this year to support our Military men and women and their families. Operation Homefront was named as the featured national philanthropic organization under this initiative; however, teams of mothers and daughters in 20 states will be working with a number of philanthropies to help military members who need assistance. These events will help military families in a number of ways including providing
financial assistance, emergency food, transitional housing and critical baby items. This National Initiative is geared towards giving mothers and daughters, hands-on experience working to support military families as well as
working with other Chapters in their area to increase the level of service NCL, Inc. is able to provide in local communities to make a significant impact on the lives of those served. It is truly Service from the Heart.
