March 10, 2013
On behalf of the Sammamish Kiwanis, thank you to the community for supporting our 1st Annual Jumpin’ Jive to Thrive event held on March 2, 2013. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise awareness and funds (over $7,000), for eight outstanding Eastside non-profit organizations as well as the Kiwanis International/Unicef ELIMINATE project (Eliminating Maternal Neonatal Tetanus). If you were unable to attend we hope to see you next year.
The following organizations shared in the proceeds of Jumpin’ Jive to Thrive:
ARAS – Assistance League of the Eastside - Boys & Girls Club of Sammamish
Eastside Baby Corner – Eastside Friends of Seniors – Kids Without Borders
Sammamish Heritage Society – SAMMI Awards Foundation
Our event was sold out (over 200 attendees) and was a huge success. The Microsoft Jumpin’ Jive Orchestra created a vibrant, energetic environment for our guests. Our community responded enthusiastically. Here are a few comments from some of the attendees:
“What an amazing community event! The planners deserve highest praise. A packed house, festive atmosphere, great music -- a fun opportunity to learn about and help great local causes.”
-Amy Taricco, Sammamish Resident
“I can’t remember when I’ve had so much fun at an event. Everyone there seemed to be in the mood for a good time and they weren’t let down. I’m already looking forward to next year!!”
-Ray Guyll, Microsoft Jumpin’ Jive Band Director
“This evening was more than we could have hoped for. Members of the Sammamish Community came out for a wonderful evening of dancing and giving. The Community generosity to the Kiwanis ELIMINATE Program may save a childs life".
- Bob Keller, President of Sammamish Kiwanis
Our event could not have reached this level of success without such generous support and participation. We sincerely hope we see you for the 2nd Annual Jumpin’ Jive to Thrive event in 2014!
With sincere gratitude,
