Arson Fire Hits Issaquah's Historic Ek Farmhouse
The fire broke out on Nov. 22, seriously damaging the 130-year-old Ek Farmhouse.

ISSAQUAH, WA - A fire that seriously damaged the city-owned Ek Farmhouse on Nov. 22 was likely intentionally set.
The fire broke out during the evening hours and drew a response from Eastside Fire. Arson investigators from King County were called in to assess the incident.
The Ek Farmhouse is located at Confluence Park along Rainier Boulevard North in the downtown area. The farmhouse was built in 1890 and was preserved by the city for public use. Confluence Park is only a few years old, built by combining the Issaquah Creek , Tollë Anderson, and Cybil-Madeline parks.

The Ek and Tollë Anderson families were among the first migrants to settle in the Issaquah area. The farmland around the homes was once an orchard.
