At 10:30 p.m., undercover police were able to get the 16-year-old suspect to come out of an apartment in Des Moines along the 21600 block of 29th Avenue South. The 16-year-old was accompanied by a 17-year-old male, and police say they were both carrying guns. Police identified themselves, and then the 17-year-old fired, police say. Police returned fire, striking the 17-year-old. He later died at Harborview Medical Center. The 16-year-old escaped during the shooting.

At around 5 a.m., police located and arrested the 16-year-old in an apartment near where the shooting happened. That same day, police located the 17-year-old female from the Fred Meyer surveillance video in a home along the 6800 block of South 133rd Street in Skyway. There was a 23-year-old woman with the 17-year-old at that residence, and police believe she was driving the SUV that killed the 22-year-old at Beaver Lake Park.

The 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, and the 17-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of identity theft and possession of stolen property.
