Body Of Issaquah Teen Who Drowned In Snoqualmie River Recovered

King County authorities recovered the 16-year-old's body from the Snoqualmie River near Olallie State Park Thursday night.

NORTH BEND, WA - The body of a 16-year-old Issaquah boy who went missing while swimming in the Snoqualmie River last weekend was recovered Thursday night, according to King County officials. The county's marine unit recovered the teen about 450 feet from the waterfall that he and another teen accidentally went over on Sunday. The accident happened near Olallie State Park near North Bend.

Emergency personnel were called to the state park around 6:30 p.m. Sunday after the teen was missing for about an hour. The teen was swimming with two other friends when he went missing. According to the King County Sheriff's Office, two teens were swimming above a a waterfall along the Snoqualmie River when they lost control and went fell over it. The other teen was able to swim to safety. A third teen was swimming with them, but was able to make it to shore safely.

Divers continued to search throughout the day Monday, but the search was called off in the afternoon due to dangerous conditions on the river.

The teen was a student at Issaquah High School, according to the school district.
