Brightmont Academy Announces New Scholarship Program

Private school specializes in one-to-one instruction for 6th-12th grade students with campuses in Redmond, Sammamish and Seattle

SEATTLE, WASH. February, 4, 2016 – Brightmont Academy, a private school specializing in one-to-one instruction, today announced the TeamWinfrey Scholarship program created to cover tuition for two students to attend one of three Brightmont Academy campuses in Redmond, Seattle or Sammamish. Elijah Winfrey, a Tour golfer and motivational speaker, is the founder of TeamWinfrey, a non-profit organization dedicated to contributing to the community with a special focus on serving those with autism, homelessness and underprivileged children and youth.

In addition to tuition, the TeamWinfrey scholarship will also be supported with mentoring from Elijah Winfrey. He will be fully invested in each student’s success at Brightmont Academy, participating in the interview process, monitoring progress throughout the year and celebrating with each student at his or her graduation ceremonies. The organization would like to specifically welcome students on the autism spectrum to apply.

“We look forward to helping students with learning differences continue to succeed,” said Elijah Winfrey, founder of TeamWinfrey. “We believe this scholarship will have a direct impact on ensuring these two individuals have an opportunity to learn in an environment that best meets their needs and supports them on their path to graduation from high school.”

Brightmont Academy is a fully accredited private school that uses a one-to-one instructional approach to customize the learning program for each individual student and family. One student works with one teacher though every learning session. Students in grades 6 through 12 may enroll at any time during the year or for summer school, and earn a diploma issued by Brightmont Academy. Brightmont also offers individual courses, enabling students to transfer credit toward a diploma to another high school, and tutoring for students in grades 3 through 12.

“One-to-one instruction at Brightmont Academy fully individualizes the learning process to effectively address a wide range of learning challenges,” said Founder Ruth Wilson. “This is a proven model that addresses a range of student needs—those with learning difficulties, those who need support to graduate and for those students wanting to accelerate their studies.”
