The City is conducting a recruitment for the newly established Equity Board that will advise the Mayor and City Council on equity initiatives and policies, and will help build relationships with the Issaquah community.

The selection of Equity Board members shall consist of individuals with expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion work, or other related fields; and community members who have an interest in diversity, equity and inclusion work as evidenced by training, personal experience, or actions. Members will include diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, ages, lived experiences, disabilities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, professions, etc. A majority of members will be representative of black, indigenous and people of color.

To learn more about this recruitment, and to apply, go to issaquahwa.gov/apply. The application deadline is Sept. 12, 2021. Following the application review and interview process, appointments will be made by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council in October.
