Duckling Rescue In Sammamish: Firefighters, Police, City Employees Save Waterfowl

A mother duck and 10 ducklings were rescued from a storm drain in Sammamish by a group of public servants.

SAMMAMISH, WA - A group of public servants recently banded together to enact a high-stakes rescue. A group of Sammamish police, public works employees, and firefighters from Eastside Fire and Rescue made the rescue. And lucky for Sammamish residents (and beyond), the rescue of the mother and her 10 ducklings was well-documented.

Eastside Fire and Rescue reported that the public employees were tipped to the stranded family by a Sammamish resident. As soon as the ducklings were free from the drain, the mother whisked them away, perhaps to the nearest pond or lake.
