Eastlake HS Junior Gets Boys & Girls Club Leadership Award
Eastlake junior Adam Westmoreland received the honor over the weekend at the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - High schoolers from Sammamish and Seattle received the two top awards at the annual King County Boys & Girls Club youth leadership ceremony in Mercer Island over the weekend.
Eastlake High School junior Adam Westmoreland earned the Quincy Robertson Service and Leadership Award. The award is given to one local teen each year for "excellence in serving their club and community as a youth."
"Adam is a junior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, and has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs for 8 years. He maintains a 4.0 GPA, is a three-time recipient of the scholar-athlete award, and hopes to attend Vanderbilt University, majoring in chemical engineering. In his free time, Adam is a student athlete, President of Keystone Club at Sammamish Boys & Girls Club, and is co-director of The Hope Festival," the club described.

Ballard High School senior Piper Sloan was named the 2019 King County youth of the year.
"In her free time, Piper volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club, is the President of Keystone Teen Leadership program, and is a writer and features editor for the Ballard Talisman. Piper hopes to attend the University of British Columbia, majoring in forensic science and becoming a lab analyst," the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County said.
