Eastside Fire Promotes New Deputy Chief
New Deputy Chief Ben Lane began his career as a volunteer with Eastside Fire in 1991.
SAMMAMISH-ISSAQUAH, WA - From East Side Fire and Rescue: Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) and Fire Chief Clark is proud to announce the promotion of Deputy Chief, Ben Lane.
Deputy Chief Lane is a 28-year veteran of the fire service. He started his career as a volunteer in 1991 and was hired by Fire District 10 in 1994. In 2004, Ben was promoted to Lieutenant where he served in that role for four years, then was promoted to Captain in 2008. In 2017, Ben was
promoted to Battalion Chief.
Ben received his Associates of Science degree from Columbia Southern University and will soon complete his Bachelors in Fire Administration.

During his time at EF&R, Ben has been involved with Technical Rescue, Haz-Mat and the Wildland team. He has been a Peer Support Team Member with EF&R since 2004 and has been serving as a
triathlon coach and avid fundraiser for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America since 2011. Community involvement is very important to Ben and over the years, he started several community outreach programs that are going strong today. Over the years at EF&R, Deputy Chief Lane has received several awards including the honor of a Life Saving award.
Deputy Chief Lane will lead the Prevention and Logistics Divisions. This includes Fire Prevention, Emergency Management, Mechanic and Building Facilities, Health & Safety, and Inventory Control Management.

Ben is a family man, married to his wife Tiffani with two sons; Wyatt and Cooper. During his time off, Ben enjoys staying active outdoors and has raced in several Iron Man competitions.
