Evergreen Academy Preschool Students Hold Ladybug Release
Students recognized Earth Day by releasing 1,500 ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation
Students at Evergreen Academy Preschool in Issaquah have caught the environmental bug! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 1,500 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Throughout the day, students also planted flowers in gardens around the school.
Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Evergreen Academy Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
