Free Concert Coming to Swedish/Issaquah Hospital

Sammamish Symphony's string quartet to perform on Wednesday night.

The Sammamish Symphony’s String Quartet will hold a free concert in Swedish/Issaquah Hospital’s main lobby on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 8 pm.

Natalie Kozimor of Swedish/Issaquah Hospital says the event is part of the new hospital’s efforts to become a vibrant community space.

“We want to be a gathering place,” Kozimor said.

Inviting the Sammamish Symphony String Quartet to perform felt like a great way to draw people in, said Kozimor.

“We just thought this would be a nice opportunity for the community to come together,” Kozimor said.

Tim Winter of the Sammamish Symphony String Quartet said that the group is looking forward to the event.

“We feel very honored to be a part of this,” Winter said.

Winter said that the musicians – two violinists, a violist and a cellist – will play a variety of popular hits by groups like the Beatles and classical music by Handel and Mozart, and will try to go in whatever direction the audience seems to enjoy.

During the free concert the shops in Swedish/Issaquah Hospital’s atrium will remain open so attendees can browse the available wares and perhaps get some early holiday shopping done.

Café 1910, Swedish/Issaquah’s health-conscious restaurant, will also be open during the performance.

Concertgoers with children will also be able to arrange for childcare at Adventure Kids Playcare, giving them the option of dropping the kids off while they enjoy the music and peruse the shops. Those interested should contact Adventure Kids to make reservations.
