Officials Will Assess Whether To Open I-90 Thursday Morning
Snoqualmie Pass has been closed since Tuesday night due to debris, snow, and ice.

State transportation officials will reassess whether to reopen I-90 between North Bend and Ellensburg on Thursday morning. The approximately 75-mile stretch of highway has been closed all or in part since Tuesday night due to treacherous conditions.
On Wednesday morning, state officials decided the highway was too dangerous to open due to trees across the roadway, snow, and ice.
After assessment, conditions are substantially unstable on I-90 due to ice and fallen trees. Crews will reevaluate Thursday morning.

If you need to cross the Cascades, you can use U.S. 12 over White Pass, U.S. 2 over Stevens Pass, or U.S. 97 over Blewett Pass. However, conditions were poor on those roads. An injury collision between a vehicle and semi-truck slowed traffic along U.S. 2 east of Stevens Pass Wednesday night.
Near 8 p.m. on Wednesday, WSDOT closed a portion of I-90 near Vantage due to multiple collisions.
