NORTH BEND, WA — The Department of Fish and Wildlife's law enforcement wing is asking for public help to find the people responsible for killing three cow elk with arrows near a North Bend diner. Wildlife officers were called to Ken's Truck Town Diner the weekend of Dec. 14 and found an elk killed by an arrow in a nearby field. Further investigation led the officers to a second elk, which appeared to have been killed by archery.

More scouting of the area turned up a third elk, also killed by an arrow. Investigators said all three animals were likely shot the night prior. The arrow used to kill the third animal was different from those recovered in the other two. While nothing was taken from the first and third elk, officers said the second one had had its quarters and back straps removed, with the rest left to decompose.

Investigators ask anyone who may know something to contact them at 360-902-2936 or text WDFWTIP to 847411. You can also file a report on the Department of Fish & Wildlife website. Tips that lead to a culprit may be eligible for a cash reward.
