Issaquah Armed Bank Robber Sentenced: DOJ

Darryl William Young, 66, robbed banks in Issaquah, Seattle, and Woodinville during a spree in 2016.

ISSAQUAH, WA - A 66-year-old Seattle man will serve 15 years in prison for a 2016 bank-robbing spree between Seattle and Yakima.

Between June 8 and July 11, 2016, Darryl William Young robbed banks in Issaquah, Woodinville, Seattle, and Selah, which is north of Yakima, according to the Department of Justice:

On June 8, 2016, and June 18, 2016, Young entered a Key Bank and a Wells Fargo Bank in Seattle, Washington, brandished a pistol replica at a teller at each bank, and demanded money. The tellers gave Young money and he left the banks. On June 29, 2016, and July 1, 2016, Young entered a Key Bank in Issaquah, Washington, and a Banner Bank in Woodinville, Washington, approached a teller at each bank, and demanded money.

Young was arrested the same day as the Selah robbery.

The DOJ did not reveal how much Young stole, but he is being ordered to pay $14,000 in restitution. After he leaves prison, Young will be under five years of court supervision. He was sentenced Feb. 14 at U.S. District Court in Spokane.
