Issaquah Flags At Half-Mast This Week For Pearl Harbor, Gutierrez

ISSAQUAH, WA - Flags will fly at half-mast on two different days this week in honor of two solemn occasions.

On Dec. 7, flags will be lowered at city buildings in honor of Pearl Harbor Day, which marks the day in 1941 when the Japanese military attacked a U.S. naval base in Hawaii.

On Dec. 9, half-mast flags will honor Tacoma Officer Reginald "Jake" Gutierrez, who died last Wednesday after being shot by a suspect as he responded to a domestic violence incident.

The flags will remain at half-mast until the end of each day. Residents and businesses in the city are encouraged to join with government in lowering flags.
