Issaquah Man, 25, Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-5
A 20-year-old Mercer Island man is suspected of DUI, according to state police.
ISSAQUAH, WA - State police have identified the 25-year-old Issaquah man killed in a wrong-way crash in Seattle early Sunday morning. Mohamed S. Alhethail was hit head-on by an SUV on the ramp connecting I-5 and I-90.
The crash happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday as Alhethail was exiting southbound I-5 onto eastbound I-90 south of downtown Seattle. An SUV driven by Alexander S. Chung, 20, of Mercer Island, was coming down the same ramp in the wrong direction.
Chung's 2018 Subaru Crosstrek hit Alhethail's 1995 Honda Accord wagon head-on. State police spokesman Trooper Rick Johnson said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The crash blocked the I-90 on-ramp for over four hours.
