Issaquah PD Writes Hundreds Of Tickets During Traffic Emphasis

Distracted driving, blocking intersections, and more. Issaquah police are looking for feedback on their traffic enforcement program.

ISSAQUAH, WA - Issaquah police offciers gave out hundreds of tickets to drivers during a special traffic pilot program carried out between April and June. Now, police are asking for citizen feedback on the program.

According to police, officers stopped 558 people, gave out 370 citations, and filed 564 traffic-related charges. The most common infractions were distracted driving, blocking intersections, and expired registrations.

The emphasis focused on behavior that slowed traffic flow. Officers concentrated their efforts south of I-90 and along Front Street, Gilman Boulevard, State Route 900, and Newport Way.
