Issaquah Picks New Position 3 City Council Member

ISSAQUAH, WA - Issaquah's new Position 3 City Council member is Victoria Hunt, a data analyst who has served on the city's Planning Policy Commission. Attorney Justin Walsh won the Position 3 race last November, but had to move away from Issaquah due to housing costs.

Fourteen people applied for the Position 3 vacancy. Hunt will serve until the November 2019 election. She will be eligible to run in that race to retain her seat.

"I want to leverage my professional experiences in ecology, land management and urban planning to help shape the future of Issaquah as a vibrant, sustainable city," Hunt wrote in her City Council application.

Hunt said that she wants to prioritize affordability and "stewardship of green spaces" as a member of Council.

Hunt works for Global Good, a health technology company owned by Intellectual Ventures. Hunt has a PhD in ecology from the University of Illinois and has lived in Issaquah for four years.
