Liberty High School Threat: Student Taken Into Custody
An online threat made by a student closed Liberty High School in Renton on Friday.

RENTON, WA - The student who allegedly made an online threat against Liberty High School has been taken into custody, according to the King County Sheriff's Office and the Issaquah School District. The threat caused the district to cancel school on Friday. The student will undergo a mental health evaluation at a local hospital, according to the sheriff's office.
Liberty High School is in Renton, but is part of the Issaquah School District. The district said that students at the high school helped authorities find the student who made the threat.
"Law enforcement has taken an individual into custody with regard to the social media threats directed at Liberty High School. We want to thank students who came forward with information assisting law enforcement in their weekend long investigation and resolution of this unfortunate situation," the district said in a statement.

School was open as usual on Monday, according to the district.
