Local Firefighters Help Resuce Driver Trapped Down I-90 Embankment

The incident happened Sunday night near Snoqualmie Pass.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA - Firefighters from Eastside Fire and Rescue assisted a trapped driver who drove off an embankment along I-90 and became trapped.

According to Washington State Patrol, the accident happened Sunday around 9 p.m. near milepost 49. The driver spent the night trapped in his car, unable to call for help until 9:37 a.m. on Monday.

Eastside Fire and state patrol used ropes to rescue the man on Monday morning. The 53-year-old driver was from Seattle, state patrol said.
